MARIELE MACIEL (Adriana/Ensemble): Cuban-American soprano Mariele Maciel is thrilled to join the cast of La Casa Azul. Born in Miami Fl. Mariele studied vocal performance at Florida International University, as well as the prestigious Escuela Superior de Canto in Madrid, Spain. Mariele has participated in various operas, musicals and concerts around the United States. Most recently she performed in Miami Lyric Opera’s production of Puccini’s Sour Angelica, were she sang the role of Sour Gionoveffa. Last summer she made her Indianapolis debut performing with Indiana’s Intimate Opera, were she sang the title role of the modern opera Cake. This winter she returned to Indiana’s Intimate Opera performing in the modern comic opera Speed dating tonight. Besides performing, Mariele has also been a voice teacher for over ten years, and recently has become the musical director of the children’s theater program at Ji-Eun lee’s Music Academy.
