MELANIE EAKMAN (Ensemble) is currently the Assistant Director and a company dancer for Gregory Hancock Dance Theatre (GHDT) in Carmel, Indiana. She is in her sixth season and has performed featured roles as Emily in Our Town, Mary Magdalene in SUPERHERO and Situ in Legends of Eternal Love. Melanie has also been a dance instructor for six years at The Academy of GHDT teaching ballet and jazz. Melanie is excited to be a guest choreographer this season for the pre-professional company of (GHDT), G2. Prior to joining GHDT, Melanie received her BA from Point Park University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania with a major in Dance Performance and a minor in Business Management. While at Point Park, she performed with the Conservatory of Performing Arts and was an apprentice with The Pillow Project, a multimedia dance company based in Pittsburgh. Melanie trained at Jordan Dance Academy in Indianapolis for 13 years. She thanks her family for supporting her as a performing artist.
